PAST EXPERIENCE
The Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute, Ahmedabad is a recognised training centre for cancer education and research by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Every year nearly 15000 new cancer patients visit the clinics from all over India and neighboring countries. Nearly 80% of these cancer patients receive primary care at the Hospital of which over 70% are treated almost free of any charges. Approximately 500 patients attend the OPD daily for medical advice, comprehensive care or for follow-up treatment
- Worked as a Senior Registrar in Medical Oncology (17th July 2006 – 31st July 2009)
- Carried out basic medical research and numerous clinical trials
- Specialized in medical oncology with experience of work in fields of medical oncology like haematology, pediatric oncology, adult oncology
- Hematopoietic stem cell transplant unit experience: Worked as registrar for 4 months in hematopoietic stem cell transplant unit of Gujarat Cancer and research Institute during the tenure of super speciality course. Institute performs both autologous and allogeneic transplants for various hematologic (benign and malignant) disorders.
- The position involves seeing patients in out patient department, looking after patient admissions, taking appropriate management decisions.
